Hi all Somerset gardener

Hello all
my names Neil
I live in Somerset with my partner and 3 young children
I have had to give up workdue to health issues ( I hate using the term Disability) so my garden is my sanctuary I have managed to get/build several raised beds around the edge of my garden

Im not an expert in horticulture even though i went to a farming school and studied hoticulture for 3 years

As i have limited space and limited mobility I enjoy experiment with different ways of growing plants

so far I have used guttering to bring on carrots, peas and radish seedlings,
drian pipe to grow carrots and turnips
I have pea growing up an old goal post net from our local football club

Tomato plants growing from wall troughs/ hanging baskets

sweet peppers growing in hanging baskets

as I'm unable to work I manage to beg, borrow most raw matterials for the garden, I have the only double glazed cold box in the neighbourhood ( just wish the house was double glazed too)
I have a good supply of pallets so am alway experimenting with different planters I know its not the best wood but its cheap and easily repairable/replaceable

my favorites (speciality is going too far) are tomatoes peppers and squashes ( I have to admit i don't like eating veg now but I have a partner and children who love them)


I look forward to being on here for a long while as my partner now thinks im a true gardening bore ( if im not doing gardening im either talking or reading about it)

I live In Street nr Glastonbury (you might have heard of its Pop festival) if you have a pair of Clarks Shoes, I Live where they made them, well until they started making them abroad that is,

Hah! I've visited Street several times on holiday - you've got the Cl@rks Village haven't you, and the Tor isn't that far away.

Glastonbury Tor is very local. I used to love climbing for the view, im not able to climb it now days but we have other great view locally

Yes Clarks Village is on the Doorstep i don't go there very often would be different if they had Gardening stores

You're not too far away from me, we'll be in Street to get the kids school shoes over the summer hols and will more than likely run them up the tor afterwards!
Love the little old fashioned cafe at the back of the bakers on the high street, in Street knickerboker glories and pepsi floats!
