  • Hello Everyone

    Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to the grow your own thing, this is only my second year at having a crack at it.

I moved from a flat without a garden last year to a house with a small front and back garden. I'm still in the process of building everything up, but my little crops have improved from last year, getting more as the periennals become established and my fingers become a little greener. And next year i hope they'll improve again. I don't have a huge amount of space, about a 12x6 foot plot in the back garden, then as many pots, hanging baskets and grow bags as i can creatively place around the garden. Plus i have lots of chilli plants on the go indoors. I'm currently waging war against the greenfly that seem to have found their way into the house. Little devils.

Aside from that, i'm looking forward to learning from you all, and no doubt i'll be asking lots of newbie questions!

Welcome Kitty. You will find everyone here really friendly and helpful. I have learned loads in the last few months since joining.
I have a small front and back garden and a recently acquired allotment. The pets take over the back garden so I cant grow very much there but I do have an apple, a pear and 2 plum trees, some rhubarb and some gooseberries in the back. They seem to be surviving dog, cat and guinea pig assault. The front is gradually filling up with plants from various sources - garden centre, internet, local school fair, and passed on by friends and neighbours.
The allotment is developing well with a growing variety of fruit and veg.
