  • Hi everyone!

I have not long since joined, a few days infact. Still tryin' to get the hang of this computer thingy - normally outside elbow deep in muck and veggies!

Sorry if I have not followed etiqette (oops don't think that's how you spell it)
I have spent the past 2 days gettin' me head round the layout of the site.

I am from the Lancashire area of planet England, I have recently started growing veggies in a polytunnel me and my other half built out of recycled materials. You can see our efforts on my profile page.

Plenty of blue language when that was being built let me tell you! No previous building experience, wasn't sure which way up to hold the hammer, if you know what I mean! No measurements, all guesstimations hence slightly lobbed sided, plenty of trips to B&Q for more screws etc.
So if any of you are thinking of building one go for it, best thing I ever did.

Growing various veggies with some disasters but most still alive - no short of a miracle there!
When I'm not pottering about in my polytunnel (well more like a polydome as its only 8.5ft x 9.8ft) I work for the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, I'm a big kid at heart and desperately trying to avoid the onset of arthritis.
At least I think the two knobbly lumps on my thumbs are athritis otherwise I have the worlds first human galls!

Love cats, have one at the mo called Homer (piccies of him on my profile) a somewhat soft arsed cat (sorry - can I say soft?) afraid of th slightet breeze and doesn't like being wet.
Dribbles when he purrs is that normal? I'm not sure, helps me destress and is cheap to run!

Well, said to much already, hope to get chatting about all things veggie and non veggie.

    tata for now!

Hello and welcome to the madhouse!

Love the Polytunnel! Maybe I'll get mine built this year, got the frame and that's it...

Homer looks lovely too - real cuddly
