my name is karl im 22 years old. ive always had an interest in growing my own veg and ive got chickens at home. its just the way i grew up. ive got a girlfriend and two lovely children. i mainly joined this group just for when ive got any queries or strange questions i can ask everybody and see the feedback i get and help others aswell. i dont know a great deal about winter veg so if anybodys got any tips there all welcome. well thata about it for now speak soon karl.

I expect one will be along in a mo.
Cant help you with the winter veg as this is my first year and I am still trial and erroring myself.

Top tip: you need to start planning your winter veggies in April/May, if you grow from seed.
If you leave it late, you can still pick up plants at the GC (see various other threads that are bouncing around at the moment on "what to grow now")

thanks for the heads up. im planning on getting a greenhouse so it will probably be next spring when i start that. do you have any ideas as whats best to grow for my first year of winter veg? thankyou karl

i dont have any preference ill eat anything. i always beleive it tastes better when you grow it yourself. the only one ive not heard alot about is kale, whats it like?

Bit like loose-leaf cabbage. I like curly kale - have a look on some of the seed merchant sites.
