  • digging deep in Bulgaria

    Hello everyone!
My Hubby and I have relocated to Bulgaria and are trying to be as self-suficient as possible. This is providing us with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills as well as putting the old grey matter to the test in recalling old ones that have not been used for a while!
For me, gardening is something that I only 'discovered' about five years ago, but my Hubby has had a great affection for it for many years.
Anyway, enough of my waffle! I look forward to being part of the GYO family circle, and learning from its many members

I too have just joined and did wonder if there was a Reception Class. I am still reeling as to the diversity of this group. Wish I had found you all yonks ago. I emigrated from London to Dorset 30 years ago. Wish I had done that sooner too.
I am not particularly good at anything apart from dabbling and have become quite an expert at it. I believe to finish anything you have to start it first.

          Hi Babajeannie and welcome.
Is it still the fashion to have bright red hair in Bulgaria?
Enjoy the Vine, the old grey matter can be assisted by many knowledgable types on here.

              Hi Babbajenie and welcome.
Hope you will keep us posted on all the things you will be trying in a different climate.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                Hay Babajeannie,

We have 2 things in common. Growing & Bulgaria.
We have a house there too but are not out there enough to grow our own.
Our place is in Cranevo 25 mins from Varna. Where are you?

We were out there in june for a few weeks, I bought some seeds to plant here next year. Last year I bought some radish seeds back & had a compertision between Bulgarian, English & French breakfast. The Bulgarian & french breakfast was the best.
I think its great the way everyone in Bulgaria grows there own, every house has a vegie plot & they all have grapevines for which they park their cars under.
Best of luck with the growing out there, you are blest with the weather.
Are you making your own Rakia yet? Anyway dobrah ootro. blagahdaria.
                Shaun.
