  • Hi from a new member

Hi I'm Sue, this looks just the sort of site I need ! Trying out fruit/veg in pots and raised beds, keep to organic if possible. Have a lovely golden retriever and a black otter rabbit (11 yrs - very old for that type I believe) and planning to get some hens in the very near future. Would like some advice - how do hens manage on pebbles ? Their fenced off area will be fairly small with perhaps bark chippings (is that a good idea ?) and will be let out to roam in the garden, which has pebbles over the main area, with shrubby borders and soil. So many questions but I wait to hear if this has made the column as I'm very new to blogging ! Thanks for any advice, I see folk mention Jack Frost at Keston, not far from me so I think I'll pay him a visit.

Welcome SueDuma, I too am new but have been made very welcome. I have noticed that there is a specifi forum called Rule the Roost which will help you with your Hen questions.

Hi Sue and a warm welcome to the vine, I myself garden in pot's and raised beds and I've managed to grow a varied crop from beans to sweetcorn to squash and just about everything in between, I also have lots of fruit (dwarf) as well.

Hi Sue and welcome to the Vine - really friendly and helpful place to visit. One thing though - can you amend your profile to show us where you're from as advice given can vary dependent on whereabouts in the country you do your growing.
