Hi, My wife and I took on an allotment in late summer. It was derelict and hadn't been worked for many years, Possibly as many as 20.
Anyway, we have worked really hard to clear the 8ft high brambles and weeds covering the entire plot. We now have the soil in a position where we will be ready to plant in the next few weeks.
My wife is looking forward to the veg and I am keen to look after the soft fruit side of things.
We are really lucky in that we have several fruit trees on the plot at the back which, this year, produced a lot of very nice, apples, pears and plums.
Up until now we only have experience of growing a small quantity of veg in out back garden, so we have much to learn and will be asking a lot of questions no doubt.
