New to the forum, not really a grower yet but gonna give it a go this year (resolution). No alotment but lucky enought to have plenty of space thanks to my mum and her other half (avid gardeners/ fruit growers with around 1 1/2 acres) I intend to start with veg soon so any advice on the best (easiest) for this time of year would be nice Many thanks

Hi welcome to the vine. There are plenty on here better qualified than me for advice . I've got some onions on the go and broad beans. I think when you're new to growing the best thing is to experiment with lots of different things and look on definateley the first year as a steep learning curve.

Hi DarkCrow, welcome to the Vine from me too.

An acre and a half - lucky thing. My one piece of advice, is don't rush into clearing a huge veg plot straight away. Clear an area you can easily manage to cultivate, get that planted/sewn and under control, and then as you need more space (which you inevitably will), you can start to clear more.
