Hello everybody.
Have tried to post this before but put it in the wrong place.
Was waiting until I sorted out my pictures before introducing myself.
I`m a retired primary school teacher & OH is a builder. We bought this 40`s bungalow 2 years ago about 3 miles from Bournemouth town centre, moved in a year ago & are nearly finished renovating & extending.
The 110 ft garden did not have a single plant in it but luckily we brought 200 plants in pots from our other garden which we have been gradually planting out as we have made the beds & borders & it`s a lovely excuse to buy more plants. It`s amazing how many plants you need to fill a garden.
Have got a small area behind the garage which is veg beds with grass borders. I also grow lettuce, toms & peppers in the flower beds & have a herb bed. Grew an onion squash which went right round the central shrub bed in between the shrubs & gave us 5 squashes.
I also grow carrots, courgettes & pots in containers& found the carrots worked better that way.
Have two areas of grass where we planted meadow grass seeds & wild flowers & it was exciting watching what grew there. Have planted 5 fruit trees & have also got strawberries & blueberries.
Built an 8x6 greenhouse, inherited & renovated an old summerhouse where our Wilko`s kiwi is growing and have a new conservatory where I hope I can raise my seedlings before moving them to the cooler greenhouse.
Am looking forward to growing the seeds I have swapped or SAE`d from the lovely people on this forum .
Happy gardening
Trish
