Hi All,
Formally introducing myself, a thrifty and young 25-year old man residing in Blackpool. Formerley from Llandudno in North Wales, I was founder and owner for a full colour community magazine and forum website 400 members strong. Recently taken a shine to 'growing my own' since buying a set of 6 strawberry plants in 2008 from a local supermarket (my favourite fruit and a british classic), now going 20+ strong in a 3ft x 3ft bed along with a host of potted herbs and fruit as I make do with the little space I have. Now waiting patiently on a 3-year waiting list with the local allotment association, and looking very much forward to someday having my own plot. Until then, I am a keen subscriber of Grow your Own and a few other magazines which aid my study with this pastime. I enjoy experimenting with windowsill gardening and foraging for local edibles which apples, pears, blackberries and elderberries are in abundance where I live. This year I hope to create some old british recipes and beverages, maybe even the odd alcholic tipple. I am particularly interested in connecting with foraging folk and survivalists. I also enjoy researching history, recently I have been following the 'Dig for Victory' WII food campaign and the lessons and morals which can be learnt from, I am also an avid photographer and graphic designer.
Thanks for taking the time to read my intro, and I look forward to seeing some of you in the forum,
All the best, Craig.
