  • Hello Everyone :)

Just had a phone call to tell me that I've reached the front of the queue on my local allotments waiting list and I've just been offered a allotment \o/

Going to have a look tomorrow with the wife and son, don't know how much work needs doing to it yet, all I know is its got a shed and has raised beds, we're really looking forward to it

Thanks for the warm welcome guys I'll will be taking the old digi camera with me so I'll try and post some pic's.

I've been growing veg in pots and anything that will hold compost for a few years but having a "lottie" is new to me so will probably be wanting to ask all kinds of silly questions

P.S my name Christopher (Chris) but my 4 year old son thinks it hilarious to call my Currysniffa

Cos we leave ours up there we haven't got expensive ones , but I'm sure someone will come along with some good advice on decent equipment.

What part of the country are you? It helps when you need advice on stuff (obviously not forks and spades tho')

I'm in NE Derbyshire (I'll sort my profile out soon), I'm told there's a shed on the lottie and CCTV, not thinking of getting anything too expensive just something that doesn't take all the skin of my hands lol..

I've been up to the lottie this morning and this afternoon its £7.50 for the year and £4 deposit for the key to the gates, It's a 10 acre site and its completely fenced off. My plots what you call half allotment and although there a bit to do on it we love it already and have dug over three of the beds this afternoon the chairman was there and has given us some onions which have put in all ready..

I took some pics with the digi camera but there to big to upload (10mp) I will resize them, but for now these are from my mobile phone.

Let me know what you think!
