Thanks for your comments there all really kind and positive the two main beds have bean frames in them ( good job I love French beans isn't it ) the guttering needs sorting on the shed and there's a water barrel round the other side that's full but has a blocked the tap, a long with the weeding and other bits and bobs it's going to keep me very busy Yes that is rhubarb, the mother-in-law makes a mean rhubarb crumble

The only thing I don't like is the compost bin/box, its about a meter square and its all ready full , should I just rip it down and build a new one?

If the compost is ready to use, dig it in or spread it on a bed or two, then re-use the bin for this year. If it isn't ready, build another. Whatever size you choose will be too small in the end!

Its not ready, the lady that had the plot before me took it over in Jan 2010 but gave it up because she had become pregnant and her OH wasn't bothered about looking after it, think she had cleared some of the beds that's why its full, I'm going to have to move it as its where I'd like to put the new improved compost bin

Anyone know of any likes to good site on building wooden compost bins out of pallets?
