Let me add my welcome to the list! I've just completed an allotment gardening evening course at Cardonald College, and for the practical element they let us loose in Pollok Park - it's a fab place.
Best of luck with the new allotment. I'm enjoying my couple of raised beds and greenhouse. And here's hoping Scotland gets a summer this year.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day
Got the first day in yesterday. I forgot just how backbreaking it is
Cleared out the shed and found a treasure of bits and bobs.
Enough timber to make the base for a raised deck to the right of the shed.
The rubbish heap to the left of the shed is now cleared.
Made the cold frame, and is up.
Planning to plant Tatties before we go to Tunisia on Sunday, I hope.
Then the real work starts.
Congrats Jim it looks like a real winner - I love nothing more than "investigating" in an old shed your right you can find some real treasure, will have to call you Jim Lad from mow on lol
Hope you have a great holiday and are fully relaxed and ready for the hard work on your return ...
