Hello All, seems a very useful and friendly forum so I feel at home already...
Me and my family live in rented accommodation so need utilise the space and preserve the landladies lovely lawn. I have planted out an array of crops (possibly too early) in whichever containers I can find (including carrier bags). Everything seems to be coming along fine at the mo though I'm dreading the arrival of my first slug!! I have put copper wire and eggshells around everything and am no doubt becoming a tad neurotic about it all.

On the plus side, it looks like my chilli seeds are germinating atlast.

Hi Vicky,
sounds like you are already starting to get the growing bug!
Some chillis take ages to germinate, it depends how hot (spicy) they are!

PS as your in Bath have you been to the River Cottage canteen there?

I've walked past River Cottage Canteen many times as it's attached to the comedy club. When I do venture in I'll let you all know what it's like. Looks good and wholesome from outside. May be able to borrow some of the recipe ideas for my new crop of veg!
