  • Hello from green and very wet Spain

Hi, we've always grown veg and friut, and since moving to Spain have added to the orchard, put in herb, fruit and veg gardens though i have to stick flowers in there somewhere and herbs in my flower beds! We have had a poly tunnel for two months- so are on a bit of a learning curve , so the advice has been great

There is always space for another plant

And hello to you from a green and rather sunny northern France!

      Welcome to the Vine!

It'll be interesting to compare local ideas on GYO..is there anything there that the locals think you're mad to grow? - here it's kale and parsnips...tis fodder food as far as they're concerned - so we keep giving our friends roast parsnips and parsnip soup!!!!

      Polytunnel eh?How fantastic!!!!

                            Thanks

Hi everone thanks for the welcome, the pic is of Whisky and is a very fab painting.
The locals are more interested in my growing veg through ground cover then any unusual veg like parsnips( we went away for three days once and found things were knee high when we got back !)- though there are people now growing sprouts and Spanish people love rhubarb. We have inadvertantly started a food exchange programe- pavlova gets homemade cheese and chorizo, lemon merangue and chocolate cake also popular Am loving the polytunnel, dug up the first spuds yesterday and had the first mange tout- now him indoors is asking if we should have got a bigger one !
