  • Hello from Mid Wales

    Hi,
only just found this bit of the forum!
I've been gardening for many years and have always grown veg but in the last few years have really caught the bug and have been digging up my garden to extend the space to grow veg!
I grow loads of climbing beans and peas, salads, onions, garlic, beets, tomatoes, cues etc. This year I'm trying butternut squash, I think it might be a bit cold outside for it but I'm giving it a go as I've no space left in my greenhouse. I'm also trying sweet potatoes too, any tips on these?

I'm Looking forward to spending time on the forum and getting some good advice

Hello and welcome to the vine Veggienut, I grew butternut squash the other year I didn't have much space so I let it ramble all over a trailer that was leaned against the wall. It seemed to work out fine and I got a few squashes from it.

Yep, Hunter is the variety I'm growing too, I'm hoping it'll like sprawling up a fence and not take up too much ground space
