Hi.
Up until a couple of days ago whilst carrying out a Google search for fruit netting, I wasn't even aware that there were magazines that covered vegetable growing. I guess that's what comes of preferring to be in the garden, than venturing into shops.
Vegetable growing is a new and long overdue venture for me, and shown below is the plot that I have been making over the last few months, as and when time permits.
I have to say that now that I have broken the back of it and managed to finally get some planting carried out, I never realized just therapeutic simple things such as watering can be.
I still have a few more beds to make, the path ways to finish, and make a couple of benches to sit on, but the end is in sight.
This was the plot before starting.
And this is it now.
Since I installed the irrigation tanks, we have only had about two hours of rain. I'll be glad when it rains, so that they begin to fill up. The overall water capacity is 6000litres
The next job which is sadly a priority, is to make the garden as a whole deer proof. This isn't something that I have budgeted for, or even want to do, but
after this weekend when my most treasured clematis was eaten, enough has been enough! Incredibly, even the tops of a couple of the early potatoes were eaten.
