What do you get when you take two (former) geeks, some spare time and a stray Thompson & Morgan catalogue..? Well the answer is: two new gardening enthusiasts and ~120 chilli plants..
After chatting with my OH's mother about her plans for her garden I had an itch to try out growing some veggies from seed, and meanwhile my OH was digging out his dried chillis from a few years ago So after some elbow grease getting his mother's greenhouses/garden in order, and some orders from Devon Chilli Farm and T&M, we now have a bustling greenhouse shared very kindly between us all (I don't have much space myself).
So far I have sweetcorn, broccoli (generic and PSB), leeks, mange tout peas and carrots, along with our many varieties of chillies which include: prairie fire, twilight, Hungarian hot wax, cherry bomb, jalapeno, orange habanero, aji limon, Peruvian purple, topepo rosso, corno di toro.. and probably some I missed. I'll put some photos up soon for anyone interested
Anyway, despite being fairly new to this gardening malarkey I've quickly gotten obsessed with it, which is how I found the GYO community! From lurking I see a fair few chilliheads and some folk from Wales, so I hope to get to know you all Hopefully I'll get the OH to stop lurking and sign up too. Thankies if you read all that.. wasn't intended to be so long-winded!
