    Hi everyone,

Just learnt about this great website. My husband and I took on a new allotment April last year (which needed a lot of work doing on it) so after a lot of hard work (and digging/rotavating) this is the first year when we could plant a variety of veg we enjoy. However, would like to hear from anyone who could assist in a recipe for the numerous amount (I hope) from the courgettes we have planted. Also, what is the best vinegar to use for pickling beetroot, etc. Anybody, got any good recipes for chutney recipes?

Welcome to the vine Jackie. Check out the "Seasons to taste" section for all of your recipes. I was gonna ask what was is that Dexys sang about but I'm sure you've heard it a million times before.

Hello and welcome. I would use a ready spiced pickling vinegar for something like beetroot, if your making a chutney and adding spices then a good malt vinegar will do.
