  • Hello from Falkirk

    Hello all!

New to growing fruit and veg and have crammed fruit and veg into every inch of our average sized garden (this involved lifting two patios and tons of compost shifting!).

So far I have three varieties of potatoes, winter squash, butternut squash, courgettes (three varieties), broccoli, red cabbage, parsnips, carrots, onions garlic, beetroot, chard, kale, tomatoes, salad leaves, radish, beans, peas, mangetout, sweetcorn, strawberries, red currants, black currants, logan berries, raspberries, blueberries, various herbs, apples, pears, plums, cherries and rhubarb... I think thats everything

Very keen on attracting wildlife to the garden so have also planted a range of native shrubs and wildflowers around my pond. I want to limit my use of organic sprays so will welcome any tips and advice.

Thank you for all of the advice so far!

    Happy growing...and eating!

              Thank you everyone!

Just moved to Falkirk from Renfrewshire at Christmas. Lifted the two patios once I was able to break through the 30cm's of ice and snow!

I have been bitten by the Grow Your Own bug and have been out in the garden every day stuffing my face

Would love to set up a coop with a few chooks for eggs. Has anyone in Falkirk/Stirlingshire had any problems with the council or neighbors? I have a large empty strip which is very dry due to my neighbors large hedge so I think this site would be fine.

Welcome to the vine, DB. Sounds like you have got all your priorities straight!
Why don't you post your query on the chook thread - you may get more replies that way?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
