  • Greeting from the Isle of Skye!

Well, I thought I should introduce myself - just joined the site and would love to know if I have likeminded to bounce my thoughts and issues off!

We moved here 4 years ago and turned a blank canvas garden of our old cottage into a gorgeous garden. Lots of strimming and digging required to get the garden in a semblance of order.

We have rescued sapling trees over the 4 years from around the area - great Rowans, Alder, Birch, Larch and various other varieties.

Last year some very kind friends donated a poly tunnel - with donations of runner bean seeds from my late dad (died last September - an avid gardener!), I started to grow....................and boy did it grow!

This year a lot more planning went into what I was going to grow - essential so that we don't grow what we don't eat!

Anyway, a few photos for your interest........if anyone is interested of course!!!!!!!!!!!!

Course we're interested (nosey!) in your pictures. You can always gain ideas from others.

Good luck with it, and feel free to ask daft questions, like I do!

Hello and welcome - that polytunnel is packed to the gunnels - that's what I like to see. It always upsets me when I see a greenhouse used as a shed!

What can I say????? That was the best welcome I've EVER had - THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!

We have two dogs - the little one managed to get into the photo - we have Max, a 6 year old thick golden lab, and a 2 year old playful Collie called Mollie. I spend most of my time in the garden trying to find ways of keeping their feet out of the onion beds and away from the brocoli beds (they love the stuff!). Chicken wire has been brought into use this year - open at both ends so that the sparrows can get in if they want, but keeps the dogs off.

                              This year's photos attached.................................
