i am a new allotmenter with a plot about 5 miles north of manchester. I have had the plot just about 12 months, taking it on at first (after a five year wait!) to help out an older lady. I have since worked really hard to get the site ship shape and have recently erected a new (to me) greenhouse. I was so lucky as just as I finished it on came my fairy godfather and offered me all the glass I needed!
This year I am trying small quantities of lots of different things to get a feel for what I can do and also because I only want to grow enough for myself and hubby to eat.
I am loving every minute and am now starting to reap the benefits.
