total novice......HELP

HI ALL. completely new to this growing lark but thoroughly lovin it, got a smallish g/h and growin 3 types of peppers, 2 types of toms and cucumbers( dont know why the cucumbers, cant stand em) planning on cooking the produce as i also a keen cook, either got compost or dough under the finger nails, luckily not both at same time, fancy some more challenging growing next year, but starting small and see how it goes, oh and by the way and going to try and rob all of you for some knowledge, thanks alot, hope to speak to some of you soon.

One thing, I did just that - started growing things (cabbages) and not really sure why. The best way is to only grow what you like....
