Hi everyone, just found this forum after searching on google regarding a pest problem and I thought I sign up and say hello.
This year is my 5th (or is it 6th?? might even be 7th actually) year gardening and from starting just growing a few tomato plants in a courtyard the size of a postage stamp I'm focusing on growing more and more year on year.
Making plenty on mistakes, but the importance of learning from them is what I most enjoy (unless of course is was a really stupid mistake of course)
Success and failures with a Chicken run (currently at 5)
Here's my planting list.
Runner Bean - Polestar (Currently harvesting)
Pea - Hurst Green Shaft (Total Failure)
Sweet Corn - Passion
Potato - Mais Bard (First Early) (Harvested - not a great yeild to be honest)
Potato - King Edward (Main Crop)
Beetroot - Bolthardy (Currently harvesting)
Tomato - Gardeners Delight
Tomato - Tigerella (Currently harvesting)
Cucumber - Socrates (Currently harvesting)
Courgette - Soleil (Currently harvesting)
Courgette - Romanesco (Currently harvesting)
Aubergine - Black Beauty
Squash - Butternut
Chillies/Peppers - Antohi Romanian (Sweet), Golden Bell (Sweet), Friggitello (Sweet), Jalapeno (Hot), Hungarian Hot Wax (Hot) Red Cherry (Hot)
Broccoli - (Spouting) Early Purple
Brussels Sprout - Evesham Special
Cabbage - Hispi
Parsnip - Gladiator
Spinach - Perpetual Spinach
Rocket - Wild Grazia (Currently harvesting)
Lettuce - Little Gem (Currently harvesting)
Leek - Mussleburgh
Onion - Stuttgarter Giant (Currently harvesting)
Also have about 25no Strawberry plants from the runners of last years 3 or 4 strawberry plants, these are now running so I'm hoping to get around 60 upwards for next year (I love strawberry's)
I intend to hopefully achieve my first year of "year round harvesting, never managed to be able to do this as I've always had trouble with brassicas but this year..... I have a net
All the best
