I've been reading the posts on this forum for over a year and only registered today! The advice and knowledge has been second to none.
My garden is small and gravelled with pots.Waited for ages but at last got half a plot on a privately owned field for £30 a year. It's 4m x 20m and I've made 13 beds 1.2m by 2.4m with membraned paths topped with woodchip. I wanted it to be manageable and was keen not to be forever delineating the growing areas .After the initial hard work in April 2009 when the field was first ploughed ( loads of big grass clods) I can now finger weed by hand / no dig and plan to top up with local amenity compost and muck each autumn. I've really enjoyed the work, the rest and the fabulous views all round. My bit of heaven.
