Hello from Derbyshire

Hi...been browsing for a while so thought I had better join!
We are in the process of buying a field that we plan to do lot's with including keeping some chickens and lot's of allotment space...can't wait.
Fingers crossed it all goes through for us!
Currently I grow limited stuff in pots as we have a small garden despite living in the countryside and other than that I pick as much as I can from the hedgerows to make jams and chutneys with.
I have a horse too in another field...useful for manure!

Hi A.M, and a very warm welcome from Yorkshire. I too love to pick from the hedgerows. I was introduced to "Cherry plums" about 3 weeks ago, up till then I'd never heard of them. If you like to make jams and chutneys you'll fit in just fine here, there's lots of really good recipes on the vine, but if you have some of your own feel free to share them with the rest of us...please .

A Horse!!! We have a stables at the back of us... they are such beautiful creatures but they do absolutely terrify me!! I have six chickens - a wonderful addition to any field...
