I have been trying to get an alotment and am on many waiting lists. I have been offered some land to use as a plot which will need a lot of work. There were trees on the land therefore a lot of root to clear, grass and weeds are growing well at the moment. Also there is an apple tree covering some of the plot so I may not use all the land offered due to root and shade we'll see.

Pumkin Becki I will not be able to put shed etc on the actual plot as it needs to look nice from the property it is on (catholic church grounds). The plan is to edge the plot with something (possibly fruit) so that it looks neat from the house. I may get access to a shed elsewhere in the garden once it is built. It is not ideal but it is a plot and I can get growing so I will make the best of it I can.
Glutton there will certainly be pics as I want to see it before and after. The actual grounds were all overgrown and thanks to a lot of hard work by my husband and father-in-law they look great apart from the area I have now got my hands on.
I was going to pop down today but do not have any footwear that will be any good in this rain so I am off out to see if I can find some boots/rigger boots. I don't mind working in the rain as long as I and especially my feet are relatively dry and warm.

The neighbours on the adjacent housing estate think I only grow flowers because that is all they can see from the fence. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

If you've got lots of roots to clear a mattock would be a handy tool to have, B&Q sell them for £18.
