I used to, eg in Carol Klein's book I found she didn't grow any of the varieties that I did

Now it doesn't bother me, I simply look for another variety that suits my needs. A recommendation may work for someone, but be dire for someone else

I've found different places call different type different names (if you follow me). Only when I was searching around online did I realise that two packets I was looking at were the same.

...but yes, in some books I can't even find stuff via google that they go on about!

I found no results with a Google search: where have you seen mention? Very old books? (it might have been discontinued)

alys fowlers book The edible garden. was one of the places they were mentioned. I think I'm only growing them to keep the pea moth in meals!

Whereabouts are you growing willgrow? I know Alys is London based. It could make a difference to what you try and grow.
