  • Newbie!!

    Hi All,

I moved into a new house just outside of Hull last year so thought I would give growing my own a go this year now I am settled in.

Looking for some good tips and something which is easy to grow to ease me in - Tomato's / Chilli / Salad leaves I have my eye on!

Thinking of getting a propagator too, any help would be greatly appreciated as I really have no idea

    Thanks in advance

    Rodge,

Welcome! If you pop that into your profile, it will show up in all your posts

I wouldn't call toms & chillies "easy" but they are fun. They need fairly warm conditions

You'll need that if you start toms & chillies off in Jan/Feb

(I got mine on eBay, £25 for two, delivered)

I know people say you need a propagator but I do chillies in Jan with a poly bag!

              Thanks All!

What is the best thing to get myself going then? I have a fairly decent sized garden but it's not south facing, although the end does get the sun all day. No real plans to get a greenhouse - what are the weather resistant ones like? (Like the ones they sell in Argos etc)

              Thanks again!!

Tell us what you like to eat, and we'll tell you if it's hard to grow
