Hi everyone, I'm new here and looking forward to getting some expert tips!
I bought a kiwi plant last year which has survived the winter outside. It's only about a metre high at the moment with a few buds on it. I read a bit about kiwi here, and have a few questions. Is it a bush or a vine? I'm going to repot it into quite a large container against a west facing wall. I haven't a clue about pruning, so tips would be v welcome! I have a smallish garden which I'm redesigning so I can grow vegetables. What would be the best veg to grow in a small 10' by 10' plot? Also we have a dreadful problem with cats, any suggestions?

Welcome to the vine caz. Happy postings!

Try sq ft gardening with four raised meter sq beds. Plenty of info out there on recent posts an the web.

I find cats grow well on sandy slightly acidic soil.......

    Loving my allotment!

      Hello! Welcome aboard.

Do you know if your kiwi is self fertile? You may need both 'male' and 'female' plants if not..

It's a vine too - just trying to find a post I read ages ago which was extremely helpful regarding kiwis!

Cats? Size 10 boots? There's loadsof threads here about them, from infrared sensors (look for the RSPB approved one!!), water jets from infrared sensors, sticks poking out of the soil, getting your own cat/dog/chickens (? yep, thats worked for me! My chickens chase cats around the garden if they come in now), pepper/chilli/garlic mixes - loads!
