Hey guys and girls,
Just joined this forum today. Found out about this place after having a quick search on growing beans.
Quick background stuff:
I got into growing veg myself 2 years ago after being inspired by my house mate at uni who grew veg in the uni house. Gas bill was a bit mental as he kept his room like a greehouse so his crops could grow. The idea of free food or food for minimal costs was ideal as during the times when the crops are available to be harvested is the time when I usually in competition prep for TKD competitions so eat shed loads.
My first experience was 2 years ago just playing about with butternut squash. just chucked a few seeds in the garden and with very little effort, it sprouted and fruited. Didn't get much fruit as I planted it fairly late inthe year.
Did a bit more research last year and grew some Stereo broad beans, parsnips, Purple Podded peas and a few courgettes. Ok success rate, still needed more planning as i kinda crammed it all in a small space.
This year I have planned carrots, parsnips, beef tomatoes, hestia runner beans, stereo broad beans, habernero chillis, sweet peppers, courgettes, butternut squash, some peas, plum tomatoes, kale and spinach for the winter.
