  • Greetings from a newbie.

Just joined up so I thought it best to introduce myself.

My name is Dan and I live in London

This is my first year gardening and ive already become seed mad! sowing more than i need of a lot of different varieties of mainly tomatoes and chillies

My motivations are mostly food orientated as I like to cook different types of food. Also i work more or less 6 days a week so I wanted a hobby to help me enjoy the most out of my garden over the summer months. I have bought a cheap greenhouse/coldframe thingy and had some success with tomatoes (althought ive already lost a few because of frost . And am growing a number of chillies on my windowsil but still waiting for the Bhut Jolokia to germinate.

I will definately be racking peoples brains for advice, especially with pests etc red spider mite and snails have already got me angry lol!

    Hope this isnt to long

    good luck with the gardening

    Dan

Hello Dan and a very warm welcome to the vine from Jinny Cat & Me. Snails...ARRRRRRR I hate snails. I have a death bucket for the dam things...small bucket, salt, add snails...death to snails, simples . Bhut Jolokia chillies can take a little longer than ya everyday chilli to germinate, just give them heat and a little time and they'll come good for ya.

If your not sure how to do this, go to the top of the page and click on User CP, that will take you to another screen. You need to click on Edit Your Details...scroll down until you get to Location. Pop in a rough location then click save changes...you don't have to put exactly where you are. Or we might come round and pinch ya veg if our's fail . Good Luck
