  • New Allotment Holder...

    Hi All

My name is Joanne, I have just recently got an allotment in Jan 2011, it is a allotment site that has been not used by council for approx 6 years, so you can imagine how over grown it was, we (me and hubby) have got a few things planted but the main battle is the weeds.. think I am going to be battling with them in 10years time... but looking forward to all the proceeds, not enjoying the back ache!! but loving it and look forward to some advice from you all.

    Cheers Jo :-)

            Hi

Welcome to the vine. It really is a place for good advice and many friendly people who will always help you out.
Good luck with the new plot, you will enjoy it, I know I enjoy mine. It's my little haven and I can get lost for hours down there, especially in the summer. As others have said, clear a little at a time and then plant.
