Sorry, but I just can't resist - WOULD YOU LIKE SOME SEED?
They look very similar to Piglet Willie's French Black - is why I asked....very similar indeed.....

Kumato is actually a registered trade mark - I might not even be allowed to call it that, but that's what it was called in Carrefour where I bought the donor.Excellent flavour BTW, which is why I went to the trouble of saving it.

PW is one of the Mods on here. He bought the toms in France years back and has regularly bred them in Leicester; so they are acclimatised for the UK. Mine were still being harvested in greenhouses in the UK mid November....and possibly after but I didn't go back to 2 schools in Dec due to snow so it could have been longer.

Ahh, there they are. Just about 5oz each - quite a bit bigger than those in the greenhouse:
I can't remember when I stopped picking, but it was ooo...October at least I think (inside). Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made

I cannot believe I've only been here a fortnight. If you had any idea how many hours I've spent on here, how much I've read and how much I've learnt...
I'd like to say thanks to everyone for answering my repeated questions. I think I'm here to stay, and you'll make a gardener of me yet.Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made

So hello again to those I know, and hello to those who've joined in the interim.
With your help I turned the garden in the first picture into a productive space with a bit of room for wildlife, and very much enjoyed the time spent doing it.
But I've moved. I have a new house. It has more space. It has a nice big garden.
The garden is a completely blank canvas at the moment, and I'm going to need some help to organise it. I loved my last garden, but I made mistakes. The pond was in the wrong place, for one. This one I need to get right because I'm not planning on leaving here for a while. The new garden comes with its own set of challenges which will be disclosed in due course. Nothing too tricky though.
I'll sort some photos out soon. Shall I stay here, or is there a more appropriate board for a "design and build a new garden" thread?
Feels good to be back, with a whole new project. I've got a lot of things I need to cram into the available space, and I'm looking forward to doing it with you. (I didn't mean that to sound quite like that but you know what I mean!)

New thread in which board? I think it needs a new one, I'm done here.

Veggies in the half that I can, wildlife in the half that I can't. Think chat board might be best.
