  • Afternoon and Evening, Everyone

I am very much a newcomer when it comes to being greenfingered and growing your own. This is only the third year that I have grown my own veg, and I would like to keep going. Originally an investigative pseudo-scientific activity to help me keep occupied whilst unemployed, I rather like my hobby of exploration and investigation. To keep my enthusiasm, all advice and support is most welcome. You never stop learning, and when it is fun, it is even better!

Good evening and a warm welcome.
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner-knives. ~ Rudyard Kipling

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Vine. You may well see another Hobbit on here, albeit unofficial! Hope you enjoy yourself and find this site useful, we all do!

Thanking you all kindly! It's a typical bank holiday with the precipitation, so I'm watching the veggies from the touchline. Hobbits shrink in the rain

Bunking up with the butternut squash would be wholly uncomfortable...

This is a great place for help and advice and there is a good mix of novice folk like me and experienced gardners!

                    happy gardening!

                        Absolutely loving the welcome!

I think hungry hobbit(Fi?) and I might be neighbours of the shire of hobbitland. (The real life sarehole mill is down the road, up the hill type of thing).
