    Hello Greenthumbers,

I am moving from a wasteland of gravel to a lush green strip of living green, I am full of youthful joy at the thought and am wondering how many seed catalogues is to many I don't want to be black listed from the postman on the first month of arriving in August. Herbs, fruits, veg and flowers and a home to all the local wildlife.
I am a lady who is full of enthusiasm and time at the minute all i need is some of the brownstuff and sunny window ledge.
I am sure when the garden is measured and all the boxes emptied i will make plenty more posts pictures will be posted too i am sure.
All the love and growing wishes send to you and you and you

    Mrs VW

Hello Vicky and a very warm welcome to the vine from Jinny Cat & me. You've come to the right place if you need advice, there a helpful bunch on here.
Answer to your first question...ya can't have too many seed catalogues...(known as green porn in my house ).
So pull up a chair, grab yourself a cuppa, catalogue, big lump of cake and ask away.

Ooh, seed catalogues, you can never have too many.

It is also worth getting down to your local allotments to see if they have a shop. Ours is open for a few hours on Sat and Sun and this friendly emporium sells many essentials at low prices. If you don't have a plot there you can pay £1 for annual membership.

Freecycle is your friend too. I picked up a 'like new' black compost dalek recently, the likes of which was £43 at the local garden centre.

Take it all slowly and enjoy.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.
