Hi everyone Ratbag here, I have recently retired, & I love being in the garden. On my retirement I bought a lean-to greenhouse & started potting seeds and plants. At the moment I have Cauli,beetroot, carrots & parsnips in my garden in small poly tunnels. In the greenhouse I have 2 varities of Melon,(which are showing) kiwi & peppers. Tomato & strawberries on the go too. I would welcome any hints & tips that anyone can give on these products. ratbag

Hello ratbag - welcome to the forum!

The beetroot, carrots, parnsips don't really need to be grown under protection - but you'll get an earlier crop no doubt under the poly! I'd love one.

The Cauli's will need netting if you're outside / open to pests - to stop cabbage whites laying their eggs on 'em!

I don't have any specific tips for you really - like a lot of people on here, I mostly employ trial and error There are loads of threads and posts that you will find helpful. At the top of the page there is a search button - if you type your subject in there you will find a lot of posts on that subject. It takes a bit of getting used to but there is a wealth of information on here and the search button is your friend

Hi crismarks,Took my poly tunnels away yesterday only to find that just about everything had gone, except for 5/6 beetroot plants. Don't know what happened they all ( cauli,carrots & parsnips ) seem to be doing well at one point. Very dissapointed.

hi newton, wish i could grow blackpuddings, I love them too. But at least I live quite close, for buying the proper ones.
