Hey
I've been loitering around the forums, picking up tips and tricks for a couple of months now and thought I'd introduce myself as I'm so impressed with the knowledge shared here.
I need to make my garden work for me this year as was made redundant in March (yes, another one!) and have decided to go to Uni in September for a career change so
funds are going to be in short supply!
I look forward to being able to share ideas and pick brains
So far I have planted:
tomatoes (tumbling in hanging baskets and 2 grow bags of another variety that I can't remember) - all going well so far
sping onions (nothing at all has happened with them)
carrots (seem to be growing well)
Peas (doing OK)
runner beans (doing OK)
Courgette (just emerged from soil)
Augbergine (given to me at the weekend and in flower!)
spinach (doing fab!)
Strawberries (again doing fab)
Garlic (planted to late as bought on sale, so not too hopeful)
Ginger (again planted too late but we'll see)
Squash (nothing happening at all)
Basil
Thyme
parsley
chives
(All shop bought and now in an old sink - fingers crossed!)
With the exception of the toms everything is in pots in Miracle Gro soil. I'm hoping that if I can grow stuff this year successfully I will sacrifice some of my garden for more perhaps planting stuff in Autumn.
I have some miracle gro sachets - should I be feeding once a week?
Thanks in advance for any advice guys.
