Hi All,
My name is Ross from sunny Gretna, Dumfries and Galloway. Recently got myself on the property ladder and always promise myself when I did I would have a good vegetable patch and attempt to grow my own. Moved in in march and so far so good. Constructed a couple of raised beds from old railway sleepers and so far this year i've had success with potatoes, lettuces, radish, peas, carrots and spring onions. Complete failure with purple sprouting broccoli and red cabbage which have been absolutely demolished by caterpillars. I dont think they are saveable!
Child number one on its way, due on Sunday 28th August!
Just thought I would say hi and give you all prior warning to be prepared for some stupid questions coming from me.
I'll start with question number 1...
I'm coming to the end of some pea and spring onion crops and would like to replace them with some vegetables which i could perhaps plant now from either seed or plants and they will give me produce up to and through winter. Any suggestions as to what i should start with?
Hope you are all well and happy veg growing!
Ross
