  • Hi

    Hi all

Newbie but keen gardener from Ireland!!
Bought a site a few years ago and built my own house and got around to doing the lawns etc this year. Also left some space for my sloped beds behind my garage and got cracking in mid May...
Happy with my success so far this year with beetroot, carrots, turnips (purple top & white), peas, radish, lettuce, rocket, cabbage, load of courgettes (from one plant) all harvested or to be harvested...
Not sure how my celeriac is as I can't see the top of it...I see from this site that I should be able to...
Onions (from sets) and scallions (from seed) to be pulled in next few days...
Have winter broccoli, cauli and cabbage in and hope to plant some Radar onions and garlic for over winter...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                      Hello

Have you pulled most of the leaves off your celeriac? It should just have a few on the top by now. I had beginner's luck with celeriac, and since then I've not had a crop at all (for the past 3 or 4 years it's failed to grow at all)

                        Hey all.

                        Thanks for the warm welcomes....!!

Hey Pumpkin Becki...The self build was a long haul but so well worth it...we have a beautiful house that we all love now...Lots still to do, but like a garden, there always will be..!!

Taff, wouldnt say that..could be beginners luck and had some hiccups already too....one or two spinach plants from a fully sown row being one of them...

Two Sheds...I haven't done that, no. I had only pulled one or two off, so I will pull most of them off tomorrow..what to do then? wait? one has alreday tried to flower also, so I pulled the top off it....
