Hello all,
I've just this year started gardening. This forum has been full of useful info, and I've lurked here since I got interested, in about April.
I was in a shared house, and a previous housemate had done lots of work in the garden and planted flowers. I took these out, and tried various veg:
successful: runner beans, rocket, parsley
moderate: peas, carrots, lettuce, chillis
failures: courgette, onions, spring onions, leeks
Now I've moved house to a place with a huge, neglected garden. I'm trying to turn it into a vegetable plot. Planted or going to be planted soon:
kale and cabbages, broad beans and peas, onions and garlic.
There's far more space than I want to fill with those, and I'm digging out more beds and planting them with forage rye as a green manure.
Sadly my second post is going to be appearing in the 'Weeds, Pests and Diseases' section in about five minutes - I may have a problem.
Cheers,
