Thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself to all you lovely people on The Grapevine and find out what homegrown veggies are making it to your Christmas tables?

Personally I can't wait until boxing day when I finally get the chance to get stuck into all of those yummy chutneys and pickles that I made earlier in the year from surplus summer crops!

Welcome to the Vine. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Today, I fetched home carrots(which I had previously lifted and buried to protect from frost), parsnips, swede and sprouts. The sprouts are really small which is disappointing but even so, they will be much better than shop bought. I already have my spuds in the shed at home with my own onions and I will be back tomorrow to take home some leeks and savoy cabbage. Xmas day menu not finally decided yet but all the veg will be home grown
