  • Hi everyone!

    Hi,

How are you all doing? I am a novice gardener and want to learn as much as I can here. I have just recently found out about heirlooms and perennial gardening and am very interested. Any advice would be very appreciated in these areas. Especially on what heirloom tomatoes and perennials I should grow . I currently am growing gardeners delight tomatoes.

    Thank you,

    John

Good morning John and welcome. When you say perennials - do you mean veggies or flowers? Meanwhile, have a search around on here - that will keep you entertained for a while!

Veg. I recently got some everlasting onions and have read up about walking onions, potato onions, babbingtons leek (can't find this one anywhere)

Chiltern Seeds sell the bulbils. Have a look at this http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...um-seed-2.html. Maybe bazzaboy will be along soon to let you know how they're growing. I'm growing Wild leeks (Allium ampeloprasum) from bulbils for the first time - I believe Babingtons are a variety of this.
I'm a fan of perennial veg too. If you look at Permaculture websites and books you'll find lots of ideas.

Outside tomatoes are tricky (but not impossible) due to late summer blight
