Hi Mouldy, welcome to the forum! Plenty of container growers here, so you'll fit right in. Check out Potstubsdustbins' threads (think I got his name correct!), his whole garden is devoted to containers!

Hi Mouldy and a big welcome from me too. Lots of us grow crops in containers so you are not alone!

            Welcome aboard Mr Mouldy Bread.

As I was looking through the list of new posts, my eye kept being drawn to this thread and until I entered the thread I could have sworn it said "Evening all - Mr Mouldy Beard".

I don't do containers....to much watering. But we are using no-dig gardening as we have a lot of rock under the dirt an the weeds are shocking. So we just put down cardboard then hay and compost and layer it till it's high enough or we run out. We used bales around the edges early on at the corners where the frost might gather so it would flow over the top, then took it down when it got hot enough. So you can make containers out of hay bales and then use them as mulch and in the compost. Also roll up chicken wire in a circle and put hay and compost in it and plant potatoes etc. Of course if it's windy like here you would want to tent peg them to the ground! Ai
