  • Hello im new here

    Hello everyone..

As you can see from my user name i am Terry

I have been using this site for a few months now and thought i would register and try to get involved in some way.

I have been buying the monthly edition of GYO for about 5 months and found it to be very useful..
I am quite a novice to vegetable growing and my knowledge is very limited so dont expect loads of brilliant ideas from me just yet..infact it will be me taking the advice i can assure you

I live in London and have spent most of my married life (17 years) living in flats but for the past 4 years i have lived in a house with a decent size garden so im just really starting out on things..

Last year i grew Tomatoes as i heard they was very easy to grow?

This year im growing Tomatoes and Potatoes so im branching out slowly.

Anyway i hope my stay here is an interesting and helpful one and look forward to corresponding with you...

Hello Terry and welcome to the Vine. I see from your post that you live in London - could add that to your profile please, then it will show up on your posts (top right hand side - you can see that I live in Lowestoft).

If you can do tomatoes, you're well on your way: I don't think they're all that easy.

Spuds, on the other hand, definitely are

                  Welcome aboard, Terry.

Get some lettuce on the go to accompany your tomatoes, if I can grow it anyone can.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Hello Terry and a warm welcome from me too. Do you have a greenhouse for your tomatoes? If you do you can grow lots more veggies in it. Do tell us more about your garden please!

welcome terry. It says germinator under your name and due to a massive imbibing of spirits last night I thought it said Terminator, and then I thought, terry the terminator, how cool
                      I digress....
yup, lettuce, basil, cucmber, go for it

LOL at Terry the Terminator! Obviously a good night Taff!
Hi Terry - yes go some lettuce! I'm on the other side of the world dodging frosts at the same time as you guys but for the opposite reasons! I've got red mignonette lettuce going as they can handle the frosts and winter cold apparently. They're managing it so far. I've also got some cabbage's red and green, and spinach and radish - so start branching out. My idea is - the more the merrier, and if it doesn't come up then there's still plenty of other things to eat!
