I have already been posting away with the vast questions I have and have had some great advice - thanks guys!
I live in Northern Ireland, high up in a little village over looking belfast. I own a first floor flat with a decent sized balcony and also an enclosed yard (all lovely black tarmac with a large and very attractive oil container on the corner).
I have always wanted to do something with the garden and balcony and especially more so now my son is nearly 3 and loves being out doors!! baby steps I have taken during the last few weeks are:
- I Created a shopping list of planters, trellis, seating and plants - its quite large and growing by the day!!!
- I used a wind breaker and some reed screening to sheild one side of our balcony from the wind that always seem to be rushing across our balcony - affectively turning into a wind tunnel!! I hope to have some potted bamboo in front of this a some point
- I bought a bird feeder and we now have wildlife in our "yard" which my wee boy loves
- I Bought a blow away greenhouse - I hope to grow my own salad leaves and tomatoes.
Next is to sort the ever growing list into an affordable order and start buying bit by bit...hopefully over the months my "yard" will turn into a little "garden"
Wish me luck...I am going to need it as I have minimal funds and zero knowledge
