time for a letter to the local paper I think, councils dont like to be shown up as incomptent, wasteful or corrupt. Actually call the news desk I am sure a reporter would love this local story "anarchy at the allotment!" "council mismanagement"

Try and make an appointment with the council employee to go the allotment with you or take pictures to show him. Our site had a wishy washing approach up until recently with the committee saying 'if people pay their subs' there is nothing we can do about it'. If the plots are vacant and no money being paid the council should be allocating the plots to people on the waiting list. Good luck!

Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think plots can be handed down to family members as mentioned earlier.

Do you mean my first post when I said people had had them for generations? Or when I said the man who had taken another plot without permission and was going to give his other 2 plots to his family members? Think the generational plot holders have been there since time began! But I do believe you are right about this other berk! But I think that he and his lot have been making up their own rules for so long that they just assume they can do whatever they want to do on the site!
