  • Hi to you all. Newby to the forum.

Just been given a quarter plot allotment after a 3 year wait so ready to do battle with the bugs, birds, slugs and weather. Been gardening for a long time but mainly fruit trees and greenhouse crops. Can't wait for sunny Somerset to live up to its name and allow me to get going on weed clearance and a spot of rotavating.

Looks like a very active group here so I am looking forward to learning some new tricks from you contributors.

welcome kiwiman -I've heard of half plots but quarter ones too now! Still better than nothing after you're long wait/ Have a good season and watch that rotivator it'll chop up all the weed roots if you don'tget all of them out.

Enjoy the vine - it's as addictive as the actual gardening is!
