    hello everyone

    thought id introduce myself im charlotte stay at home mum to 2 kids and we live in the very north of scotland caithness!

    so 2 days ago my OH and i decided the unused weed ridden tiny patch of grass which is my garden should be put to good use growing veg and then i stumbled into here! i have never grown anything except tomatoes and strawberries with my daughter last year so i think this will be interesting weither it works or not!

    our plans are to start off small with things like potatoes which will be grown in bags as no space for them in the garden. turnips hopefully onions aswell and next year when the times rite we will also be planting carrots

    any advice would be gratefully recieved

          lol yes binley100 i feel i may of bitten off more than i can chew but i shall try! first day of weeding gone good quater of the garden done fingers crossed for nice weather tomorrow!

            Welcome to the vine Charlotte - it is a really tough growing year but you may get some joy from some late planting, especially if the weather picks up in late July / August/ September!

                Hi Charlotte. Welcome from me too! Plenty to grow this time of the year. Lots of lovely sunlight for you up there I expect! Well light anyway..........

                            You've picked a weird time of year to start growing things, so have a look at the threads 'wahtc an I grow for winter' and stuff. You've missed most main crops now, but things like chard/spinach/kale, maybe beetroot and radish should be ok.
