Hi my name is Debs and I am trying to start growing my own fruit possibly veg but due to garden being small need to use pots. Not been successful so far. Tried carrots last year and they were mouldy Tried Strawberries this year and although got three strawberries they were a bit funny shaped and had holes in them . I have taken pictures of the plants as they are now but do not know how to put these on the site so as you experts can advise me if they are dead or can be revived for next year. Been told to leave them and simply cover with straw. HELP PLEASE

Welcome to the vine Debs. What I do is transfer my photos to my PC, edit them then just save them on the desktop. To get them on your post, click "Go Advanced" then click on "Manage Attachments" & follow the prompts..............Good luck.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

hello debs, welcome, next year just has to be better than this one, have a look at the vines fruit and veg show case for last year, you will have to scroll down the page a bit, then have a look at whats on this years so far, that will give you a good idea how bad it's been, plus next year you will have more info under your belt on growing, just ask away,or keep looking in to see what others are up to,so chin up girl,at least you have tryed,a lot of others cannot be bothered, sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Hello from down here.
My straws were either eaten by slugs - because of the wet - or dried up and crispy because of the earlier drought!
